Independence Day

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Once again it’s time for our nation to celebrate Independence Day.

Independence Day.  You don’t hear that expression so much anymore; it’s the Fourth, or Fourth of July.  Almost like we are celebrating a day off rather than the event for which the day commemorates.  I wonder, how many of us will remember to fly a flag on that day?

Independence Day.  For those of us at Bickimer Homes, it will be a day to take time out from our busy work schedules and give thanks for the men who 243 years ago courageously took a stand against Tyranny.  This will be a family day, just like all of our birthday celebrations.

Independence Day.  In these divisive times, it’s easy to forget that we are all part of a great country, and that we should never take for granted the freedom we enjoy.  At Bickimer Homes, we certainly don’t take building homes for our customers for granted. 

How cool is it that we live in a country where we can build houses for a living?  Houses that will become homes for families of every race and creed, families who are endowed with the unalienable right to pursue a life that will bring them happiness.
